EGCR’s Spotlight of the Week

EGCR’s spotlight series will be focusing on the fun side of our staff and Court Reporters, featuring their interests and what makes them awesome! This week’s spotlight is on our Court Reporter, Michelle!

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

Warning:  Am prone to insult your mom if you annoy me.

What is the one thing you cannot resist?

A chilled Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie.

Do you have a favorite quote?

”My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” ~ Maya Angelou

What is the first concert you attended?

Flock of Seagulls, Freshman Year High School.  A legendary band.

Who is your favorite band/artist?

The British band Keane.  Love singer/songwriter Damien Rice.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

Would love to visit Vietnam. I understand the massages are dirt cheap.  Would love to spend some more time in the Greek Islands and more areas of Spain.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

I think Bethenny Frankel would do a bang-up job in the role of myself. I feel a familiar sense of alignment with her.

If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?

I am going to have to be painfully shallow on this one and go with John Travolta, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Nicholas Cage, and Brendan Fraser, for obvious reasons.  That’s five, but who’s counting?  And now I feel shame and despair for not selecting my dear deceased Aunt Pearl, G-d rest her soul, as she is surely turning in her grave.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

What would anyone do?  See what’s left over after taxes, distribute a fair amount amongst my loved ones, and then get the hell out of dodge and jump on the nearest cruise ship.

What’s your favorite movie?

Fargo; Pulp Fiction; Girl, Interrupted; What Dreams May Come; A Walk on the Moon; Schindler’s List; Good Will Hunting; Pink Floyd – The Wall

What animal best represents you, and why?

An African Gray parrot.  Representative of annoying phrases of the week, affection on our terms, inconsistent moods, and surreptitious shenanigans.  Flying high doesn’t hurt either.

What three things do you think of the most each day?

Hmmm.  I plead the Fifth on that one.????

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?

I would travel back to 1985 and re-sit for the SAT. 😀

What three traits define you?

Introspective, intuitive, shallow, unfiltered, self-deprecating, trollish, antisocial.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you:

It might come as a surprise to many that there’s a quite brilliant mind behind the scattered facade.
