EGCR’s Spotlight of the Week

EGCR’s spotlight series will be focusing on the fun side of our staff and Court Reporters, featuring their interests and what makes them awesome! This week’s spotlight is on our wonderful Court Reporter, Alison!

If you had a warning label, what would yours say? Do not wake if sleeping.   Does not like loud noises.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? Dogs.  And baked goods.

Do you have a favorite quote? “Life is just what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon

What is the first concert you attended? Unofficially, New Kids on the Block.  I was at Great Adventure in New Jersey (Six Flags) with some friends and we were given free tickets to the show.  Officially, Bruce Springsteen.  My favorite concert was when I took my dad to see Paul McCartney at Piedmont Park in Atlanta in 2009.

Who is your favorite band/artist? The Beatles.  I also like Pink Floyd.  I grew up listening to both.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation? Scotland.  I would also like to see Germany and Alaska.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Angelina Jolie

If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be? Paternal grandmother, Rita Robinson, who passed away at a very young age; my friend Terri Willis, who passed away; Victoria Stilwell, so we can talk about dogs; and The Beatles.

What would you do if you won the lottery? Help out family and friends; pay off debt; be much more involved in animal rescue; set up a company where I can design unique, yet practical, pet products; take a vacation with my dogs.

What’s your favorite movie? I have several movies that I really like, so it’s hard to pick a favorite.  Some of my favorites are:  Somewhere in Time; It’s a Wonderful Life; Roman Holiday; Chinatown; When Harry Met Sally; Raiders of the Lost Ark; Spaceballs; Goldfinger; The Great Escape; The Maltese Falcon; Gaslight; Laura; After the Thin Man; Lady and the Tramp; The Godfather: Part II; Her Majesty, Mrs. Brown; Mr. Bean.

What animal best represents you, and why? Owl.  Quiet observer, loyal, nighttime person.

What three things do you think of the most each day? Spending time with my dogs, taking my dogs to the park, planning activities for my dogs….. common theme here.  😉  What can I say, my dogs are my world.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? 1912. The movies “Somewhere in Time” and “Titanic” both take place in 1912 and I love the clothing and hairstyles.

What three traits define you? Trustworthiness, dependability, independence

Tell us something that might surprise us about you: I took sewing lessons for about five years on reproducing women’s Civil War era clothing and accessories using period techniques.  I’ve also enjoyed collecting original items from the 1860s, including parasols, fans, and photographs.
